As an instructional media, the hypermedia is packaged as an educational
computer software where lessons are presented in a more exciting,
adventurous, and virtual way.

Differences of Hypermedia and multimedia:
Hypermedia - is compilation of the above media presentation in
an interconnected manner. Hypermedia is a subset
of multimedia.
Multimedia - presents of
audiovisuals package like text,graphics, animation,audio and video using computer in an integrated manner.
Characteristics:
1. Learner control. Makes his own decision
2. Learner wide range of navigation routes. Depends on his/her ability and motivation
3. Variety of media. Hypermedia has more than one media (text, graphics, videos).

Given all its capabilities, hypermedia still does not replace life's experience and learning from nature and life. This is the saying that information and communication technology cannot replace the teacher altogether.
